Voiliers, pirates et colonies lointaines sont au programme de ce grand roman d’aventures. Une série magnifique au scénario envoûtant et aux décors splendides. Un travail minutieux de la part de l'auteur permet une immersion totale dans l'univers de Livingstone. Cependant on ne ressort pas indemne du voyage. Lorsque l'on referme le livre, les pensées embrumées, c'est avec un drôle de sentiment.
L'homme de Java - T1 - Rebelle (1990)
On accompagne le jeune Herbert Livingstone de son adolescence à sa maturité, c'est un vrai voyage initiatique où il apprend à se connaitre, à s'accepter tel qu'il est, et à ne plus avoir peur de la mort. Rejeté par ceux de son âge parce qu'il défend les théories de Darwin et notre parenté avec les singes, trahit par celle qu'il aime, Herbert tente de s'échapper d'un monde qu'il ne comprend pas, mais hélas il va un peu d'infortune en infortune. La transformation du personnage est stupéfiante (lorsqu'il s'accepte enfin tel qu'il est), l'aventure est là avec un grand A!!! On ne ressort pas indemne de cette lecture !!
